PUTTING
A LID ON SCARE-MONGERING
How much longer are we going to listen to the Chicken Littles?
If you listen to opponents of the mining industry,
you'd think the sky really is falling, and that President Bush,
Interior Secretary Gale Norton, all the Governors of all the Western
States, half of the United States Congress, experts in America's
most highly-regarded scientific communities, and - of course -
the mining industry, planned it that way.

California
Dreaming is an Energy Nightmare
- Except for Coal-Powered Los Angeles
After weeks of enduring electricity shortages,
rolling blackouts and higher energy prices, Californians by now
probably feel like they've been unwillingly cast in a low-budget,
Grade B power horror film. That is, unless they are living in
Los Angeles.

NEVADA'S
MINING COMMUNITIES HAVE REASONS TO BE HOPEFUL
America welcomes the return of it's democratic form of government
Thankfully, America is a democracy with a government
of laws. But in the process of creating law, sometimes government
officials get carried away and do the wrong thing - even for what
might appear to be the right reasons.
While building their "environmental legacy," regulators
within the Clinton/Gore administration, held tight to a personal
agenda that - by admission - meant doom for America's mining industry.
Although these officials have left office, their policies remain
and, unless addressed by Congress or the new administration, will
squeeze the lifeblood from our country's mining communities.
